Custom MC Cartridge Step-up built with Altec Peerless 4722 Transformers in a black powder-coated, hand-polished cast-aluminum enclosure. Included are 2 switches: high/low gain and ground/lift. I used Premium Octal Sockets, C&K Brand Silver contact toggle switches, Silver wire w/ Teflon insulation and Gold Plated RCA jacks. This is a set of microphone/input transformers wired to be used for connecting a moving coil cartridge (on a turntable) to a phono preamplifier, phono input of a receiver, or your system's preamp. This unit is switched to allow a step up of either 16 to 1 (24 dB gain) or 28 to 1 (29 dB gain).

Hand built interconnect cables using Cardas Connectors. Properly constructed with a shield that is connected to drain on only one end. This design avoids ground loops and is perfect for use between a Step Up Transformer and Phono Preamplifier.
